NCPI Steering Committee
The Power of Partnerships
Community policing is an integrated approach of law enforcement and preventative strategies which build and strengthen a community. The philosophy of the Police Department is that the well being of a neighborhood depends on involvement and interest from a broad based group of individuals and stakeholders and the police department requires many different partners. One partner is NORWESCAP who has worked with the Phillipsburg Police Department for several years to build a community Steering Committee. The purpose of the Steering Committee is to help solve the broader community issues which affect the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors. The shared vision of sponsoring monthly crime prevention meetings, providing free activities, dances, and festivals for children, and hosting a series of community clean-up projects have been some of the different strategies the Steering Committee has initiated.
The Steering Committee invites all residents to join the email list, attend sponsored activities including monthly meetings, and to become involved in the community. If it is a simple step of meeting your neighbor, or attending crime prevention trainings, the Phillipsburg Police Department, NORWESCAP and the Steering Committee are committed to providing a collaborative approach to resolving crime and community issues. Get involved!
